Part 1 – Hardware Asset Management
The ServiceNow® Hardware Asset Management (HAM) application continues to innovate, introducing advanced workflows, automation, and enhanced mobile capabilities for managing your technology asset environment. The latest updates enhance asset accuracy, improve asset utilization, and reduce risks through streamlined processes.
New Features for Hardware Asset Management
- Asset Attestation for Accurate Asset Management
Maintain precise asset details by using Asset Attestation to validate asset usage and confirm assignments. Perform audits through employee confirmations to ensure that assigned serialized hardware assets are still in use.
- Hardware Model Normalization for Operational Technology (OT) Assets
With the installation of the OT Asset Management application, organizations can now standardize their hardware and consumable models. This is achieved by incorporating at least one OT asset, alongside the model categories from opted-in HAM resource categories, through the Hardware Model Normalization process. The OT entity flag will help identify whether an asset is classified as an OT asset.
Enhancements
- My Assets Menu: The My Assets menu is now available in the global header navigation bar of the Employee Center home page. This menu provides employees with quick and easy access to details about their assigned assets.
- Employee Profile Widget: The updated Employee Profile widget includes an Assets tab, which displays a list of assets assigned to the employee.
Changes in This Release
- Reflow for Configurable Workspace
The Hardware Asset Workspace now supports reflow, allowing pages and content to be zoomed up to 400% without any loss of content or functionality. This update ensures enhanced accessibility for users with visual impairments or those working in environments with limited screen space.)
