      What about the industry’s move from SAM to ITAM?

      The latest update of the ISO/IEC 19770-1 standard captures a development that had been going on for quite some years: Broadening the focus from SAM to ITAM.

      This change in mindset allows us to reach out to other functions within our organisations and move to higher levels of maturity and agility.

      As a result, practices and tools also changed. Softline Solutions for instance, renovated the House of SAM® and rebranded it to the House of ITAM®, introducing the necessary connections to neighbouring ITSM processes. At the same time, we see tooling providers moving from isolated (endpoint-) solutions to more integrated (platform-) offerings.
